Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Elpidio De Asis Jr. said last Saturday that the body of kidnap victim Nemia Gomonit was in a state of decomposition when recovered by Zamboanga del Sur policemen in Karomatan, Lanao del Norte last week.

De Asis said that police PRO-9 troopers are working overtime and doing their best to locate and rescue Gomonit’s grandson, Ceekim (Zamboanga del Sur), Engr. Drapiza (Sibugay) and  Maricris Sogradiel Cuartocruz (Zamboanga City), all  in the hands of kidnappers.

He said the police have already names of the kidnappers, but requested to withhold them so as not to jeopardize the ongoing investigations and operations.

“I just pray and hope that they will be released soon,” De Asis said.

During his series of command visitations to the different police commands in the region, De Asis appealed to the people to help the police and military solve all the kidnapping cases so as to bring the perpetrators to the bar of justice.

“Giving information secretly or texting info to the authorities will be a great help in combating and fighting crimes,” De Asis pointed out. — Allen Abastillas
