Subanon tribe leader’s son, 12, killed in ambush PDF Print E-mail

A 12-year-old boy was killed in an ambush intended for his father who is a Subanon tribe leader and barangay chairman in Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur last Monday.

Killed was Jordan Manda, son of Timuay Lucenio Manda, leader of the Subanon tribe in Bayog and and chairman of Barangay Datagan. The elder Manda was wounded in the attack.

A police report disclosed that Timuay Lucenio was driving a motorcycle with Jordan riding on the back on their way home when gunmen opened fire on them.

No other details were available aside from information that the Subanon leader was opposing mining in that municipality.

In Basilan, two soldiers and a suspected bandit were wounded in an ecounter in Sumisip yesterday morning.

The wounded bandit was identified as Juhayver Alamsirul  alias Abu Kik of Sitio Baag, Bohe Dinigpian, Barangay Guiong, Sumisip.
