A jeepney driver and a 32-year-old man were shot and wounded in separate incidents last Monday night and yesterday afternoon.

Wounded were Mohammad Nuri and Sulpicio Almonte y Ferraren.

A sketchy police report disclosed that Nuri was driving a jeepney when a gunman shot him.

Nuri managed to ride a tricycle that took him to the hospital to undergo treatment of a gunshot wound.

Ferraren was shot by his neighbor in Barangay Kasanyangan last Monday night. He sustained a bullet wound in the left arm and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police identified the assailant as Said Habibula.

Initial investigation showed that Almonte and Habibula were having a conversation around 11:30 p.m. when they figured in a heated argument. Habibula pulled a handgun and shot Almonte.

Habibula escaped after the incident while the victim was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center.

The City Police Office’s Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines has mounted a hot pursuit operation for the immediate arrest of the gunman. — Dan Toribio Jr.
