Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo, former City Police Director and currently assigned at the Police Regional Office, led the so-called pre-annual general inspection that was held along Nuñez Extension this city yesterday morning.

De Ocampo said they created a scenario along Nuñez Extension where a supposed shooting incident took place. The City Police Office was not told of this scenario.

Investigators and other personnel from the different units of the City Police Office rushed to the scene where they learned that it was just a scenario as part of the PNP’s annual general inspection (AGI).

De Ocampo said the purpose of the scenario was to test the ability of the police to  respond to  such incident.

De Ocampo rated positive on the responding policemen who arrived at the scene in just two minutes.

He said that earlier,  a hostage scenario was also conducted at the area of jurisdiction of the Zamboanga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan.

Gadayan and his men also earned positive mark from De Oampo’s team as they responded very fast.

De Ocampo stressed that the local police is capable of responding to any eventualities based on their performance during the pre-AGI exercise.
