As a way of showcasing various skills development programs, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Region-9 will hold a one-day TESDA Fiesta. today, September 7, 2012 at the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) Centennial Quadrangle.  

The Fiesta, which seeks to highlight the wonderful opportunities in technical vocational education and training, will have two major components - skills demonstration and free TESDA Services.  Skills demonstration will feature pancit making using squash and malunggay, bartending, table setting/skirting, flare tending, cake decoration, and table napkin folding.  These will be presented by selected technical vocational institutions (TVIs) and colleges with registered tech-voc programs.  TESDA free services that will be offered to the public include manicure, hand spa, hair cut, reflexology, massage therapy, and cell phone repair. Some TVIs will distribute coupons for free repair of television sets and automotive vehicles in their institutions. Free medical services (vital signs) will also be given by institutions with allied medical courses.

This activity is made back to back with the Jobs Fair of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), the mother agency of TESDA.  Dubbed as ‘Trabajo Para na Todo – Job Fair and TESDA Fiesta 2012, these two activities are conducted in partnership with the Congressional Office of District 1 in Zamboanga City represented by Deputy Speaker for Mindanao, Congresswoman Maria Isabelle G.
