Policemen under City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia along with military personnel arrested two men and recovered from them two suspected stolen motorcycles in two separate operations in Curuan and Upper Calarian the other day.

A police report disclosed that men of the Curuan Police Station led by Chief Insp. Ricardo Garcia and soldiers of the 14DRC headed by 2Lt. Bejay Guadilla were manning a checkpoint along the highway around 9:30 p.m. last Wednesday when an XRM motorcycle driven by Abdulnasir wahi y Tanji, 35, married, of Ilang Muslim Village, Davao City came in coming from the city proper and heading east

Police said that Wahi suddenly made a U-turn to avoid the checkpoint prompting the lawmen to hold him for investigation.

Wahi could not produce registration of the motorcycle.

Police found out that the motorcycle belongs to Lino Burlat of Tamarind Road, Forbes Park, Makati City.

The suspect was detained at the Curuan police station while the seized motorcycle was impounded.

In another incident, operatives of the Sinunuc Police Station and soldiers of the Task Force Zamboanga seized a motorcycle with plate number 3189-JL driven by Elmer Paraiso, 37, single, of Tetuan last Thursday for driving without driver’s license registration.

It was learned that Paraiso took the motorcycle of Welvina Narawi without her permission in Tetuan last Thursday.

Police said that Paraiso tried to elude arrest by running away after he sensed the presence of the checkpoint.

Paraiso was placed under investigation while the motorcycle was turned over to the owner. – Dan Toribio Jr.
