Fish vendor shot dead over P7T debt; gunman nabbed PDF Print E-mail

A fish vendor was shot dead by a fish broker over an unpaid P7,000 debt in Baliwasan Seaside yesterday afternoon.

Killed was Tommy Nerwit, married. He was shot by Sadat Muin, 33, married, of Baliwasan Seaside.

Muin was immediately arrested by policemen under City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia.

Initial investigation conducted by the Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines disclosed that Nerwit took from Muin two boxes of fish worth P 7,000 two months ago and failed to remit the due amount

Muin had been looking for Nerwit to collect the unpaid debt until they met yesterday in Baliwasan Seaside.

Muin said he tried to collect the due from Nerwit but the latter refused to pay which prompted him to draw his .45 caliber pistol and shot him.

Nerwit was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. He expired several hours later.

Muin was cornered by policemen detailed in Baliwasan. He was later turned over to the central police station for investigation.
