Cop wounded, wife unhurt in Basilan road gun attack PDF Print E-mail

A policeman was critically wounded while his wife escaped unhurt in a gun attack at the border of Barangay Begang and Barangay Busay, Isabela City, Basilan last Monday night.

Wounded was PO2 Sherhan Paris y Ajijul, 35, of the Lantawan Police Station.

A police report disclosed that Paris and his wife Nashra were riding on a motorcycle on their way to Lamitan to fetch a cousin when two men riding on another motorcycle chased them and the backrider opened fire on them at the border of Busay and Begang,

Luckily Nashra was not hit by the bullets while Paris sustained a gunshot wound in the head.

Paris was rushed to the Infante Hospital for treatment. He was declared  in critical condition.

One of the assailants was described as wearing a brown jacket, having medium built and dark complexion.

The assailants sped towards unknown direction after the gun attack.

Recovered at the crime scene were two spent shells of .45 caliber pistol. – Dan Toribio Jr.
