Illustrious colleagues in both houses of Congress paid tribute to District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian who celebrated his natal day last Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

In a surprise taped presentation during the Birthday Concert of chanteuse and Comedienne Mitch Valdez, Sen. Chiz Escudero and Koko Pimentel offered their felicitations to the second district solon paying him the highest tribute as a three term representative from Zamboanga City.

Escudero, a former colleague of Rep. Fabian in the lower house years before, said it was a great honor and privilege to have worked together as he reminisced the days when they went to battle in pushing their respective agenda in the house.

Escudero, a touted front runner for the vice presidency in 2016, also offered wishes of great success to Fabian on his future endeavors.

Sen. Pimentel on the other hand said it was an honor having known and worked with Cong. Fabian and offered prayers and best wishes for the solon’s plans in the future.

Zambales Rep. Eleandro Madrona, a reputed close friend of Fabian, offered words of encouragement and best wishes for the Zamboanga solon to continue doing what he does best, serving his constituents to the best of his abilities.

Respected Cong. Roilo Golez, a colleague and co-member in the powerful house committee on defense, cited Fabian for his dedication to his craft as a lawmaker in the Lower House.

Golez said it was an honor and privilege to have worked with him in their work at Congress.

Rep. Cesar Jalosjos, brother of mayoralty aspirant Nonong Jalosjos in Zamboanga, said Erbie is a good friend and a respected member of the Lower House.

Jalosjos wished the 2nd district solon success in his future plans after he bows out of Congress next year.

Also offering their greetings were Rep. Neil Tupaz of Iloilo, one of the high profile members of the House Impeachment panel that helped oust Chief Justice Renato Corona, Senior Member of the house, Nacionalista party mate and Cavite Rep. Boying Remulla, former Pagibig Chief and now Marikina Rep. Romero Quimbo, Rep. Jose Zubiri III of Bukidnon and former media colleague and current Samar Rep. Ben Evardone.

Local figures and fellow Zamboangueños, his staff and friends expressed their greetings in a lengthy tribute to the solon from Mercedes moments before Mitch Valdez took to the stage and rocked the overflow crowd at Patio Palmeras with her wit, humor, singing and dance.

A cross section of the community braved the continuing drizzle Wednesday night to attend the dinner concert cum birthday party of the ity solon.

Fabian, who is gunning for the mayoralty post in next May elections was profuse in his gratitude for and deeply moved by the show of love, loyalty and affection from his friends , supporters and his constituents.

Also performing was singer-composer Ruby from Manila as well as two kids who rendered song numbers.

The tribute to Rep. Fabian was the high point of the night’s celebration during the dinner-concert intending to raise funds for the San Sebastian Chapel in Cabaluay.

Anton Atilano, a long time friend and MOBB band member and acknowledged leader, made the night more memorable by donating a substantial amount to the Chapel completion project.
