The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) is presently carrying out the temporary restoration of the city’s main thoroughfare, specifically in Mayor Jaldon St. and Mayor Climaco Ave., as a result of the newly completed pipe replacement/ rehabilitation in the area.

For the past few months, the water utility cannot fully restore the area because of the failure of bidding on the procurement service of asphalt overlay.

Hence the water district has decided to fill up the unrestored portion with lean concrete, a temporary substitute for asphalt overlay in order to prevent possible occurrence of accidents, traffic jams and health risk due to dust coming from piled up dirt. Aside from causing inconvenience to the riding public and to the establishments located in the area.

The on-going restoration work in the downtown area is expected to be completed this month.
