A female shoplifter was detained after the police found a sachet of shabu and drug paraphernalia in her possession after she was caught stealing an item from a store the other day.

Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Management, identified the suspect as Marhana Harun y Abianares, 19, single and a native of Isabela City.

Initial Investigation showed that Harun was caught by security personnel of a department store shoplifting a blouse worth PP475.

At the police station, the store management refused to file a ase against Harun. But before Harun was released, policewomen searched her and found a small sachet of shabu and four strips of aluminum foil and lighters.

The seized were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination while Harun was detained at the central police station.

The lab test result confirmed that the sachet contains shabu, but a drug test on Harun showed she is negative of shabu use.

Police have forwarded to the city prosecutor office a case of violation of Section 11 of Article 2 of the Republic Act 9165 against Harun, who availed of the 15-day waiver. — Dan Toribio Jr.
