Bangingi (formerly Tongkil ) Mayor Abdulwahid Sahidulla yesterday announced that he is planning to run for governor in the province of Sulu in the 2013 election.

Sahidulla told newsmen that he was endorsed by his family, relatives and friends to lead the Sulu people to prosperity.

“It is my dream to make Sulu peaceful and lead the people for peace,  development, unity and solidarity,” Sahidulla said during a press conference.

He expressed optimistism that he will be anointed by President Noynoy Aquino to lead the Liberal Party in Sulu  as incumbent Sulu Gov. Sakur Tan was endorsed by some groups to run for regional governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Sahidulla lauded ARMM OIC Gov. Mujiv Hataman for eradicating graft and corruption in ARMM.

“ Hataman is doing good in cleaning ARMM of rampant corruption. In fact President Aquino called Hataman ‘ghosbuster,’” Sahidulla said. – Allen Abastillas
