Chinese hostage rescued, 2 kidnappers killed, 1 captured PDF Print E-mail

Two kidnappers were killed and one was captured yesterday in a gunbattle with lawmen who mounted a rescue operation in Kalabasa,  Curuan, this city for the remaining Chinese national who was kidnapped in Kabasalan, Zamboanga Sibugay on June 4, this year.

Lin Yuankai was rescued in the joint operation carried out by men of the Zamboaga City Public Safety Company under Supt. William Gadayan, Special Action Force  and men of the 9th RPSB, Regional Intillegence Unit 9 and Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes Western Mindanao Field office between 8 to 9 a.m..

During the more than one-hour gunbattle, two kidnappers — a male and a female — were shot dead, while a third one identified as Shamir Kamlon was captured..

Gadayan said the operation started Wednesday night around 10  p.m wherein police troopers waited in the area to rescue  Yuankai.

Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon R. Estilles commended the police troopers for the successful rescue of the Chinese national and the neutralization of the three kidnappers.

City Public Safety Company’s SPO4 Moreno Addalino together with team leader Inspector Allan Perpetua and Special Action Force troopers disclosed that during the more than one-hour gunbattle,  they exchanged fire with some 15 gunmen.

“We were in the frontline and our blocking forces were troopers of the 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion, and Regional Inteligence Unit 9.  We waited since Wednsday night to rescue the victim,” Addalino said.

Inteliigence report said the slain female kidnapper was the marketing person of the kidnappers who bought food supplies in the nearby area for their  daily provisions.

The woman was spotted by intelligence operatives of RIU9 and Philippine Center on Transnational Crimes Western Mindanao Field Office and tracked down their camp in Upper Dulian, Curuan  before the operation was carried out.

Yuankai underwent medical examination conducted by 9th Regional Health  Service under Sr. Supt. Dexter Bubuli.

Yuankai and James Luo were kidnapped in Kabasalan last June 4.

Luo was released last August 26. in Arena Blanco. —  Allen Abastillas
