Close to P2 million worth of jewelry and cash were taken away by burglars from a hardware store at dawn last Tuesday.

A police report disclosed that the robbery took place at the Yuscom Hardware in Canelar.

Initial investigation disclosed that the robbers got away with a Rolex gold wristwatch with estimated value of P 1.2 million, cash amounting to P 553,600 and assorted jewelry worth P300,000.

Police said that Yuscom employees Eva Javelosa and Norma Sarsoza discovered the robbery while they were about to open the store at 7:45 a.m.

Investigators said the robbers forcibly opened the glass window at the Yuscom building’s second floor and used it as their entry and exit points.

The robbers destroyed a safety vault and table drawers where they took the money and the jewelry.

Men of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) lifted some finger prints at the scene for possible identification of the robbers. — Dan Toribio Jr.
