District 2 Rep. Erbie A. Fabian yesterday made the rounds of some areas in the city hit hard by flood waters brought about by Typhoon “Lawin”and helped distribute clothings to residents and other relief goods.

Fabian upon getting reports of rising flood waters in areas such as Guiwan, Lumiyap in Divisoria, San Roque and San Jose Gusu, motored to the areas to get a first hand view of the destruction brought about by onrushing flood waters which swept through low lying areas affecting homes and forcing people to evacuate to higher grounds.

The 2nd District solon conferred with barangay officials in areas visited and distributed some clothings to affected residents while promising to bring in more relief goods to help alleviate their plight.

Fabian said relief operations are being mounted by the city to reach areas hardest hit by the floods, which forced riverbanks, and spillways in the city to overflow due to continuous rainfall the past few days.

Zamboanga City is experiencing unusually heavy rainfall brought about by Typhoon Lawin and a low pressure area off its western coast.

Weather forecasts indicate rains to continue persisting until today as the two weather disturbances are still within the area of the city.

Fabian called on barangay leaders to attend to the needs of their constituents while relief operations are being conducted.
