Barangays Mampang and Tetuan fell in line next as City 2nd District Rep. Erbie A. Fabian visited the two areas to serve constituents for PEEP or the Philippine Energy Efficiency Program of the Department of Energy.

Fabian was at Mampang yesterday and was received by barangay officials led by Chairman Pedro Estrada and his kagawads in assisting the solon in distributing Compact Florescent bulbs or CFL to residents in the hope of helping achieve the goal of the DOE in lowering power consumption in households nationwide.

The office of Rep. Fabian was handpicked by the DOE to spearhead the program in Zamboanga City by providing 10 thousand CFL bulbs for distribution to the city’s various barangay households.

PEEP is a weeklong nationwide program targeting households through the replacement of lighting fixtures with the cost efficient light bulbs.

DOE through the program hopes to lower nationwide power consumption by at least ten percent from current levels.

The program launched last weekend with forays to Sta. Catalina and Talon-Talon by Fabian’s Office has drawn enthusiastic response from power consumers who also continue to troop to the solon’s office in Guiwan to claim their light bulbs.

The program mechanics call for power users to present their latest paid power bills preferably those of August and July and they get 2 CFL light bulbs for free.

Fabian also presented Mampang barangay officials with their Phil Health ID cards enrolled under the congressman’s auspices into the health care plan of the government.

Estrada expressed gratitude to Rep. Fabian for his help in coming over to Mampang to deliver and distribute the light bulbs.

The solon accompanied by his congressional and support staff motors today to Tetuan to make a similar distribution of the CFL bulbs in the area.
Rep. Fabian will also turnover to Barangay Chair Nonong Natividad the Health Care cards of the barangay officials under the Phil Health program.
