Celso, Beng unveil P1.5 million rehab school building in Divisoria PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Celso Lobregat and District I Representative Beng Climaco spearheaded yesterday the inauguration and turnover of the rehabilitated 2-storey 6 classroom building at the Maria Clara L. Lobregat (MCLL) National High School in Divisoria.

Costing P1.5 million, the project is one of the numerous other school buildings and other infrastructures that form part of the numerous school buildings and other education-related infrastructures that the Lobregat administration implemented in the said school since 2007.

The city’s investment in education at the MCLL National High School to include the completed, ongoing and under bidding process has reached P61 million from 2007 to present.

City Schools Superintendent Pedro Melchor Natividad and MCLL National High School Principal Teresa Borgonia gratefully accepted the symbolic key to the building during rites also attended by Councilors Rudy Lim, Myra Paz Abubakar, Nonong Guingona, Mike Alava and Eddie Saavedra barangay officials from Divisoria, Putik led by Chairman Jerry Perez, Lumayang led by chairman Frederick Atilano, Benjamin “BG” Guingona III, City Engineer Luis Despalo and representatives from the R.B. Bial Construction firm, the project contractor and several others.

The inauguration coincided with the school’s Family Day celebration and was also witnessed by parents and students.

Mayor Lobregat said the city government remains committed to public education and will continue to assist and support the different public schools until he concludes his third term in 2013, as he wished that the mayor who will succeed him will have the same vision and concern for children including women.

“Ohala el siguiente mayor ay para contra el abuso na maga bata y maga mujer, un mayor quien ay levanta y para en este entablado y queda role model del todo vivientes especialmente del maga jovenes y maga mujer”, the mayor said in his message.

For her part, Cong. Climaco, who is the House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao recalled that MCLL National High School started way back in the 1990’s and in 1998 when she first joined politics, the school was still in its infancy stage.

“Ara bien bonito ya gayot el escuela. You have wonderful facilities provided to you by the local government under Mayor Celso Lobregat”, the congresswoman said.

She urged the teachers and the students to take care and make good use of the facilities in teaching and learning. — Sheila Covarrubias
