Atilano re-appointed, Caliolio new ZCWD Director PDF Print E-mail

Dedicated civic leader Nelida Fernandez Atilano was sworn in yesterday as member of the Board of Directors of the Zamboanga City Water District in a simple ceremony at City Hall.

Atilano was re-appointed as Director, representing the women sector, effective January 1, 2011 up to December 31, 2016. She was previously appointed by Mayor Celso L. Lobregat to the ZCWD Board to serve the unexpired term left vacant by the resignation of Ms. Carmen N. Araneta  last April 2008.

Atilano is currently an active member of the Local Council of Women-Zamboanga Chapter, Mother Butler Mission Guild- Zamboanga Chapter and the St. Padre Pio prayer group. She also does a lot of parish work  for the parish of Tetuan. Ms Atilano once served as Interim City Councilor of Zamboanga City in 1986.

Simultaneously, active educator and currently Southern City Colleges(SCC) President Edwin Mateo Caliolio was also sworn in as new member of the Board of Directors of ZCWD.  He was appointed by Mayor Lobregat to the ZCWD Board to represent the education sector. He will serve as Director of ZCWD effective January 01, 2011 up to December 31, 2016.

Calilio was an instructor at the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Sto. Tomas in Manila from 1989 to 1992, former manager of Aboitiz Transport System and Pilipino Cable Corporation-Skycable and was Executive Vice President of SCC from April 1999 to August 2008. He replaced Mr. Gregorio I. Molina whose term ended last December 31, 2010.

The ceremony was attended by former Mayor Jose Vicente Atilano II, Mr. JV and Gerry Atilano, ZCWD Board Vice Chair Edwin Makasiar, Board members Milagros Fernandez and Efren Arañez, GM Leonardo Rey Vasquez, AGM Alejo Rojas, Jr. and the different division managers and staff of ZCWD.
