3 hurt in Sinunuc highway mishap PDF Print E-mail

A member of the Philippine Coast Guard, his wife and three-year-old son were injured after they were bumped by a passenger van in Sinunuc last Saturday afternoon.

The victims were identified as Ronnie Desola y Cruz, Sr. Coast Guard chief petty officer, his wife Anecita and son Ronnie Jr.

A police report disclosed that Ronnie Sr. was driving an XRM motorcycle with his wife and son backriding on their way to the city proper around 5:55 p.m. when a passenger van driven by Jaime Samson, 58, of Jumbo Bridge, Guiwan, bumped them in front of the Zamboanga Square Garden Cockpit.

The van was traveling on the opposite direction and encroached Ronnie’s lane  lane that resulted in the accident.

The victims were thrown off the motorcycle and landed on the pavement.

Police said the victims sustained injuries in their body and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Samson was held by the police and was placed under investigation.

Bothe vehicles were impounded at the Sinunuc Police Station pending further investigation. – Dan Toribio Jr.
