Councilor Cesar “Jawo” Jimenez, the fiery opposition stalwart in the city’s august body, is likely to join the ‘Fuerza Zamboanga’ alliance of independents of 2nd District Rep. Erbie  Fabian.

Jimenez, once he decides to join the ‘Fuerza’ group, will renew ties with opposition colleague Councilor Mel Sadain and Councilor Lilia M. Nuño as guest candidate in the Fabian led camp.

Also set to join the Fabian group is John David Corpin also known as “JDC” who is gunning for a council seat in the city’s second district.

The entry of Jawo Jimenez and Corpin into Fuerza will bring the group’s council slate to five council aspirants in the first district and complete the second district council slate to eight.

Fuerza standard bearer and mayoralty bet Rep. Erbie A. Fabian earlier said the group is looking at adopting guest candidates into its slate for next year’s polls.

Jimenez, the young alderman from Ayala, comes from a family of distinguished politicians who have served the city in the past with distinction being the son of former Councilor and namesake Atty. Cesar Jimenez and nephew to former councilor Alfredo Jimenez.

Corpin had earlier signified his intention to join Fuerza to Rep. Fabian as a guest candidate in its slate.
