A carabao died, while an 18-year-old was injured after they were hit by lightning in Barangay Bunguiao last Tuesday.

Report disclosed that Joselito Fernandez had bought a carabao from Vicente Rebollos in the amount of P21,000.

Before paying the said amount, Fernandez took the carabao with a promise to settle it later.

Fernandez brought the working animal under a mango tree to pasture at past noon while rain was battering the place.

When the rain stopped, a lightning struck the carabao killing it. The 18-year-old son of Fernandez was slightly injured during the incident. He sustained minor burns in the body.

After the incident, Fernandez and Rebollos figured in a confrontation after the former insisted in turning over the dead animal to the latter without paying for it.

However, Rebollos refused to accept the dead carabao saying that they had already agreed that Fernandez will pay P21,000.

The matter was intervened by barangay officials and was later settled  in which Fernandez agreed to pay to Rebollos the agreed amount. – Dan Toribio Jr.
