2 Sibugay mayors hopeful of peaceful polls in their towns PDF Print E-mail

The mayors of the two island municipalities of Olutanga and Mabuhay in Zamboanga Sibugay have expressed optimism that the campaign period for all candidates in their area will be peaceful.

Olutanga Mayor Jing Capotulan disclosed that he is hopeful that the campaign period will not be marred by any untoward incident that will harm lives and will destroy properties.

Capotulan said that most acitivities and livelihood means of the people in his municipality are in agriculture, aquaculture and fishing.

On the other hand, Mabuhay Mayor Bingbong Calonge said that people in his area are peace loving.

“They are very busy tending their livelihood in aquaculture  like fish cages, farming ,fishing and coconut production. We are working harmoniously with the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines for a peaceful campaign period and we will do our best so that the election on May will be generally peaceful,” Calonge said.

Capotulan and Calonge were in Zamboanga City yesterday. They paid courtesy call on Highway Patrol Group 9 Chief Sr. Supt. Moises C. Pagaduan in Camp Batalla. — Allen Abastillas
