Police troopers sent to secure filing of COCs PDF Print E-mail

The 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion deployed its troopers last October 1-5 to the different provinces in the region for the filing of certificates of candidacy.

9th RPSB  Commander Sr. Supt. Narciso Verdadero said the deployment of his troopers is part of the security measures for the peaceful filing of of COCs by candidates and to secure the entries and exits of every province in  the region.

“I have one company in Zamboanga del sur, one company in Zamboanga Sibugay, one company in Zamboanga del Norte and another in Isabela City. My troopers are always on red alert because we are the  maneuvering force of the Police Regional Office 9,” Verdadero said.

“I am also waiting the directive of PRO-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon R. Estilles from the Regional Operatins and Plans Division as to where to augment some troopers  in some other areas in the region which are considered hotspots in the forthcoming elections,” Verdadero said.

Verdadero directed company commanders to establish good rapport with the communities and work hand in hand with local leaders and other law enforcement agencies so that the campaign period will be more peaceful and orderly.

Verdadero is also waiting for the downloading (assignment) of new police rookies who graduated from the Special Counter-Insurgency Unit Training (SCOUT) as an additional troopers to  his command. —  Allen Abastillas
