Man arrested for buying doughnuts with fake P1,000 PDF Print E-mail

A man, who bought one dozen of doughnuts from a doughnut store was arrested after he paid a fake P1,000 bill last Tuesday afternoon.

Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines, chief of the Investigation Section, identified the suspect as Monching Hans y Sencio of Talon-Talon, this city.

Delumpines said that four bills of fake P1,000 were confiscated from Hans’ possession. He was detained at the central police station.

Initial investigation showed that a few weeks ago, Hans went to the doughnut store and bought one dozen of doughnuts using a fake P1,000 bill.
However, the store management detected the fake bill after Hans had left the place. Store personnel recognized Hans’ face.

Around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Hans returned to the same store and was positively identified by the personnel as the one who bought doughnuts few weeks ago using a fake P1,000.

Again, Hans ordered a dozen of doughnuts and paid P1,000 bill.

Immediately, the store personnel and the manager held Hans and sought the assistance of the police.

Hans was turned over to the police together with the two fake bills.

Two more fake P1,000 bills were recovered by the police from Hans’ possession.

Delumpines said the fake bills were brought to the Central Bank-Zamboanga branch  for proper verification while Hans was brought to the City Prosecutor Office for inquest. – Dan Toribio Jr.
