Mario Lipron, a native of Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay, has asked the police to investigate what he described as mysterious the death of his four-day old son while in the incubator at the Zamboanga City Medical Center’s Pediatrician Ward last Monday afternoon.

In his complaint, Lipron said that when hospital officials declared his son dead he noticed several burns and skin bubbles in the child’s body.

Lipron believed that the death of his son was caused by the malfunction of the improvised incubator at the hospital.

He based his observation on the visible burns and bubbles skin which are signs of over heating.

Lipron said there could be negligence on the part of the hospital that resulted to the death of the baby boy.

Hospital officials however clarified that the new-born child died of a disease involving blood infection with the burns-like and skin bubbles as part of the symptoms.

They stressed that there was no negligence on their part and the death of the child was not caused by a defective incubator.

Lipron said his wife gave birth last October 18 at the said hospital.

DZT gathered that the Lipron couple has already returned to their home province after the wife was discharged from the hospital. – Dan Toribio Jr.
