Estilles commends Mejia, city police PDF Print E-mail

Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles has commended OIC-City Police Director Sr. Supt. James Mejia and his men for a job well done with several accomplishments recently.

The commendation was announced by Estilles during a command conference the other day when he returned to the city from a two-week seminar in the United States and Indonesia.

Estilles said his stafff have been reporting to him the police accomplishments especially here in Zamboanga City, when he was out of the country.

In an interview yesterday, Estilles mentioned some of the various accomplishments of Mejia and his men —  the arrest of suspected grenade throwers along Canelar-Governor Camins road which was followed by the apprehension of several suspected gun-for-hire group members, the arrest of suspected robbers, wanted persons, arrestof suspected drug pushers and users, confiscation of loose firearms, campaign against illegal gambling and many others.

“My men are working even I am not around,” Estilles said.

He added that policemen led by Mejia and his men deserve a commendation for their good performances.

Based on record, the city police office’s Investigation Section under the supervision of Sr. Arlan Delumpines, Zamboanga City Public Safety Company led by Supt. William Gadayan, Anti-Vice Section led by Sr. Insp. Joseph Lim and the different stations have made several accomplishments recently.

Estilles, on the other hand,  attended a week-long Senior Crisis Management seminar in the US.

The seminar tackled the subject of “Respond of the first responders in any eventuality” and “How to handle the procedure in crisis situation”. It was sponsored by the US government and attended by officials and personnel from the PNP, LGUs, academe, National Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.

The second week-long seminar was held in Bali, Indonesia where the representatives from the Philippines exchanged skills and knowledge with their counterpart from the Indonesian government in the subject of maintaining peace and order. — Dan Toribio Jr.
