Congressman Erbie A. Fabian is set to distribute new and renewed Philhealth insurance cards to barangay officials, tanod and members o the Barangay Intelligence Network (BIN) in District 2 as part of his health program.

Fabian said that funds for the Philhealth cards is now available and that he is just waiting for the complete list of barangay officials, tanod and BIN to set the date for distribution.

"The moment I get hold of the complete listing of tanod, BIN, barangay officials, I will set the schedule for distribution," Fabian told reporters.

Members of the local media will likewise get Philhealth insurance cards from the congressman.

Philhealth insurance card is a big help to the barangay and other working sectors especially when they or any dependent member of the family gets sick and needs hospitalization.

Those who have no health insurance card find it very difficult to deal with such emergency cases (hospitalization).

The health insurance card is part of Fabian's health program which includes the construction of health facilities (health centers), support to government hospitals, assistance to indigent patients, disease preventions like dengue and tuberculosis and other healthcare matters.

The District 2 Representative had allocated congressional funds for the construction of wards at the Zamboanga City Medical Center. He has also been maintaining fund allocation for medicines to be given to indigent patients.

Fabian also supports the city government in its anti-dengue campaign and has been helping World Vision Foundation in its anti-TB program.

Meanwhile, Fabian announced that his sport activities will resume this coming summer and they include the Tour de Fabian, a mountain bike road race from Licomo in the border with Sibugay, to the Enriquez Sports Complex, and Zambolympics that is expected to be participated by several schools, barangays and private organizations.
