Cargo boat sinks, five crew rescued PDF Print E-mail

Five boat crew members were rescued while their cargo vessel was was sinking off a mini wharf at Baliwasan Seaside last Tuesday night.

A report from the Coast Guard -Zamboanga City Station disclosed that a wooden hulled cargo vessel named M/L Lady RP II loaded with 1,166 sacks of copra and 900 empty softdrink cases with five crew arrived at the mini wharf coming from Tawi-Tawi last Tuesday around 3 p.m.

The cargoes were not unloaded because it was already late in the afternoon.

At past midnight on Tuesday, the crew noticed the boat was flooded with seawater.

The five crew members were immediately rescued along with some valuables before the boat went down the sea.
No one was injured.
