Members of Philhealth sponsored program identified through the DSWD’s National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) will be properly informed, guided and empowered through the Mobile Orientation, Validation and Enrolment Scheme (MOVES) strategy.

Zamboanga City is the chosen launching site for the entire Mindanao area.

MOVES is a new program initiated by the Philhealth and will be launched in Zamboanga City today, October 29 at the City Coliseum in Tetuan starting at 8am.

At least 20 barangays have been chosen to be part of the launching program today and these include Arena Blanco with 1,406, Camino Nuevo with 174 members, Canelar with 136 members, Guiwan with 212 members, Mampang with 1,624 members, Mariki with 1,034 members, Putik with 356 members, Rio Hondo with 1,240 members, San Jose Gusu with 348 members, Sta. Catalina with 1,174 members, Sta. Maria with 167 members, Sto. Niño with 119 members, Talon-talon with 1,182 members, Tetuan  with 392 members, Tugbungan with 1,045 members, Tumaga with 405 members, Zone I  with 75 members, Zone II with 168 members, Zone III with 22 members and Zone IV with 216 members. 

The members identified in the mentioned barangays are requested to be present in today’s launching program where there will be an orientation on the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) and the distribution of PVC-type Philhealth Number Cards (PNCs) and Member Data Records (MDRs).

The PNCs that will be distributed will cover the period January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2013 or a period of two years.

For Zamboanga City, the NHTS-PR program has recorded a total of 50,866 program beneficiaries coming from the 98 barangays. — Sheila Covarrubias
