House Deputy Speaker for Mindanao and District I Rep. Beng Climaco-Salazar reminds each and every Zamboangueno to observe with solemnity and sincere prayers for the departed on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

This, as the lady solon expressed confidence for a peaceful observance of the two blessed days in the city.

“As we remember our departed members of the family I hope that we prayerfully observe the day dedicated to them, and as always we hope that utmost security measures are enforced,” Climaco said.

y tradition, people flock to cemeteries to light candles and offer prayers for the dearly departed on Thursday, November 1, which is originally a celebration of all Christian saints particularly those who have no special feast days of their own in many Roman Catholic, Anglican or Protestant Churches.  All Souls’ Day is November 2, Friday.

“We ask that prayers be offered and solemnity be observed,” Climaco appealed.

Climaco has expressed full support to the implementation of Oplan Kaluluwa, an operation plan initiated by the police and military in coordination with the local government and other agencies for the peaceful and orderly observance of the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

The congresswoman is also set to make the rounds of the different burial sites in the city to look into the situation as well as assist the authorities who will be deployed on field to maintain law and order.

Cong. Climaco also said that the residents should also support and cooperate with the police, military and other authorities to avert any major concerns as the entire country and the world observe All Saints’ Day. — Marvin Segura
