Three Tahiti nationals are stranded in Zamboanga City after the center post of the yacht they are using on a voyage to Africa fromPapua New Guinea was broken.

The three foreigners were identified as Gino Wattier, 62, Kamaria Nassabia Adoudou, 45, and Baraka Wattier, 8, all from Tahiti, French Polynesia.

The center post of their yacht named MV Iroisez was broken in the middle of the voyage. They were turned over to the police by the Philippine Navy and Army Riverine Battalion yesterday.

The police will provide the three Tahitians security while they are securing clearance from the the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID). They intend to stay in Zamboanga City for two or three days. — Dan Toribio Jr.
