Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two women during a drug buy-bust operation at the vicinity of a beach resort in Sinunuc last Sunday afternoon.

PDEA regional director Supt. Adzhar Albani identified those arrested as Jaina Hajijahpal y Sawwalun, 32, married, residing near the beach resort in Sinunuc and Verkis Tahamid y Ladjaalam, 33, married, of Miramar, Sinunuc.

Albani disclosed that the PDEA agents confiscated from the suspects’ possession 50 grams of suspected shabu and P500 marked money.

The seized shabu pack was forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

Albani said they will file a case of violation of Republic Act 9165 against the suspects.

PDEA disclosed that the two women were reportedly selling shabu in Sinunuc and its vicinity.

A PDEA agent, who pretended as buyer,  set an appointment with the suspects and they agreed to a drug deal at the beach resort.

Around 3:30 p.m., the two women met with the PDEA undercover agent and concluded the drug transaction.

Right after the two women handed the shabu pack to the PDEA undercover agent  in exchange of the marked money, a PDEA back-up team cornered the suspects. — Dan Toribio Jr.
