Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles has dismissed the Pagadian Police Station chief and the nine personnel of the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Section for failure to resolve the controversial Aman Futures pyramiding scam.

Estilles said at the height of the controversy of the said pyramiding scam involving hundreds of victims with millions of pesos in Pagadian City and other nearby areas of Zamboanga Del Sur recently, he immediately directed Supt. Kenneth Huelva Mission, Pagadian City chief of police, to investigate the matter as well as the allegations that there are policemen who are reportedly escorting some officials of the Aman Futures Trading.

However, it took time for Mission and his men to conduct an investigation thus defying the order of the police regional director for immediate action on the said matter.

It is for the same reason that Estilles formed a separate investigation team from the regional office here that conducted an in-depth investigation on the matter which resulted in the discovery of nine police personnel under the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Section who are allegedly involved in the scam and confirmed reports that they were escorting the officials Aman Futures.

Estilles immediately relieved the said police personnel and placed them under command investigation and re-training at Camp Abendan in Mercedes, this city.
Yesterday, Estilles also relieved Supt. Mission from his post as the chief of police of Pagadian City.

“My order is clear, that I do not tolerate any anomaly under my command.  I relieved Supt. Mission for failure to render report on the existing problem in Pagadian City, Estilles said.

The police regional director said his order is very clear that all policemen in the region should perform their job properly and must not get involved themselves in any controversy, particularly in those alleged illegal activities such as the Aman Futures scam which has victimized numerous innocent civilians in Zamboanga del Sur.

Estilles warned all police personnel in Zamboanga Peninsula to do their job well or else suffer the consequences of the law.

Estilles has a standing directive on the so-called “One Strike Policy” wherein a policeman goes back to basic program if ever being proven to be guilty of any violation or negligence in their respective job. – Bhong Simbajon
