The police is set to file charges against a group of people who are alleged members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) responsible for the Christmas Day bombing of a chapel in Jolo, Sulu, an official disclosed Tuesday.

Chief Insp. Amil Baanan, Sulu police officer-in-charge, disclosed that they have already identified at least five suspects who are behind the December 25 bombing of the Church in Barangay Asturias, Jolo, the province's capital.

Eleven people, including two priests, were injured when an improvised bomb exploded during a Christmas mass around 7:15 a.m. at the roof of the Church in Barangay Asturias.

Baanan named the five suspects as Alhabsy Misaya, Dodong Tarik, Sali Said, a certain Arola and a certain Gafur, who are all members of the Abu Sayyaf Group.

Baanan disclosed they will be filing multiple frustrated murder cases anytime, adding that they are still gathering more evidences against the suspects.

He disclosed that they have already gathered the testimonies of the witnesses in preparation for the filing of cases.
