Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles has commended members of the Tetuan police station led by Chief Insp. Elmer Acuña for a job well done in arresting a female member of the Abu Sayyaf Group last week.

In an interview, Estilles said that Acuña and his men deserve commendation for the accomplishment after they arrested Amira Hakim alias Nah, a sister-in-law of ASG top leader Puruji Indama. She was arrested on the strength of a warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention in connection to the kidnapping of a Zamboangueña nurse in 2008.

Estilles said the police are working and doing everything to run after criminals and other lawless persons.

Hakim was nabbed by Acuña and his men while she was visiting her detained husband Benzar Indama, also an ASG member and brother of Puruji at the Zamboanga City Jail.

Acuña and his policemen immediately acted upon receiving information on the presence of Hakim at the city jail.

Hakim is one of ASG members listed in the warrant of arrest for involved in the kidnapping of Preciosa Feliciano four years ago.

The names of those involved in the kidnapping were uncovered through the efforts of a police official and former chief of the City Police’s Intelligence Section who worked hard to identify them. — Dan Toribio Jr.
