Beng gets EPIC Award for exemplary public service PDF Print E-mail

House Deputy Speaker and District 1 Representative Beng Climaco-Salazar has been conferred the EPIC Awards by the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists in recognition of her exemplary work in public service specifically in rendering better health care services and promoting public health awareness.

The EPIC award stands for Eight Pioneering Individual or Community and is intended to recognize and acclaim those who uphold the goals and advocacies of the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists which is composed of more than 6,000 medical specialists in the country.

Climaco was conferred the award along with 7 other individuals and groups during rites held November 17 at the Diamond Hotel in Roxas Boulevard in Manila with the theme “Understanding Medical Specialities in the Millennium”.

“We express our deep appreciation to the officers and members of the Philippine Academy of Medical Specialists (PAMS) for choosing me as one of the recipients of the 7th EPIC Awards,” the lady solon said.

She likewise expressed gratitude to partners and friends from the PNP Crime Laboratory especially to Dr. Vladimir V. Villasenor, the National Chancellor of Discipline of Forensic Medicine for the nomination to the 7th EPIC Awards.

Climaco is cited for her advocacies and programs related to health care implemented during her stint as member of the House of Representatives.

The lady solon has supported and continues to support the improvement and expansion of various wards at the Zamboanga City Medical Center and health centers in the city, the enrolment of her constituents to the Philhealth Insurance program, conduct of various medical outreach activities and numerous other programs that seeks to promote public health awareness. — Marvin Segura
