“Pray to God before you do your task and mission. Put your prayers into action. Policemen should be God fearing, service-oriented, family base and  a family model to their children.”          Thus said newly installed Zamboanga del  Sur Police Provincial Director  Sr. Supt. Romeo R. Uy  in his message to the policemen under him during last Monday’s  flag raising ceremony.

Sr. Supt. Uy  said under his command, the police force should work together and support each other for the safety and security of everyone and the whole command for the good of the people.

“My success is your success. Let’s work together so that tranquility will prevail in this province,” Uy said.

Uy also reminded the policemen who became victims of  the Aman pyramiding scam to start a new life and not to be ashame because it had happened already.

“I urge you to forget about it and help the authorities to fasttrack the investigation so that the culprits will be arrested and brought to the bar of justice,” Uy  said.
Uy likewise advised policemen to be extra vigilant because niowadays cheaters are roaming around the whole world to look for weak victims.

“Your should be careful in dealing with people because they give you sweet promises and words to fool you, ” he said.

As a result of the pyramiding scam, one retired Department of Education Superentendent  committed suicide. Another victim ran amok, some suffered temporary insanity and some were  dazed and shocke because their hard earned money went to waste.

Many victims included vendors, farmers, fisherfolks, professionals, government workers, policemen, military and others. The worst of all was that some people sold their lands properties. —  Allen Abastillas
