The Land Transportation Office-9 under Director Aminola P. Abaton together with the Trycycle Adjudication  Board will conduct massive crackdown against tricycles that have not renewed their franchises this year.

Abaton said he has already talked to  Mayor Celso Lobregat and TAB officials for the creation of a composite Committee Team and Task Force to address the problem of tricycles in the city.

Abaton said he was informed by Mayor Lobregat that the TAB has issued more than 7,000 franchises to tricycle owners this year, but as of the moment, only some 4,000 tricycle owners have renewed their franchises.

“If they will not renew until December, we will impose fines and penalties,” Abaton said.

Meanwhile, Abaton was commended by the Regional Executives Association of Western Mindanao (REAWESMIN) for a job well done in supporting the successful 11th Annual Career Executive Service  conference held in the city  recently.

Copies of the commendation letter were sent to Land Transportation Office Assistant Secretary Virginia P. Torres and to Abaton. — Allen Abastillas
