A businessman was shot and wounded by one of two gunmen in Barangay Tumaga last Sunday night.

Police identified the victim as Salip Alih y Hussin, 29, single, of 8th Street, Southcom Village, Upper Calarian.

Alih sustained a bullet wound in the left cheek and was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Police said that Alih was at a fruit stand around 7:35 p.m. when two men appeared and one of them shot him at close range.
The gunmen left the place aboard a motorcycle.

Investigators of the Sta. Maria Police Station were still working on the case.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man was stabbed and wounded during a drinking spree in Tambucho, Canelar at noon last Saturday.
Wounded was Jeffrey Luna y Aguilar, of Camino Nuevo.

Luna was drinking at Susie videoke bar with some friends around 11:30 a.m. when an unidentified man appeared and stabbed him in the left arm and waist.

The assailant escaped moments after he stabbed Luna, who was taken to the Ciudad Medical Hospital for treatment.
