A jeepney driver was shot dead by an unidentified gunman at the border of Logoy Grande and Logoy Diutay in Talon-Talon last Wednesday night.

The fatality was identified as Ben Sahid y Julratul, 25, married, of Logoy Grande, Talon-Talon.

A police report disclosed that Sahid was driving a jeepney with plate number JVA 219 heading west when a man pretending as passenger signalled the driver to stop the vehicle near a waiting shed. When Sahid stepped on the brake and let the man boarded his jeepney, the latter suddenly pulled out a handgun and shot him hitting in the left part of the body.

The gunman left the place after Sahid slumped on the driver's seat.

Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) together with police investigators gathered some evidences at the crime scene.

The body was brought to the Villa Funeral Parlor for post mortem examination.

City Police Director Sr. Supt. Edwin Deocampo instructed his men to dig deeper into the case and arrest the killer. -- Dan Toribio Jr.
