Pagadian City mayor, 9 others rapped with syndicated estafa PDF Print E-mail

A syndicated estafa case was filed Tuesday before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Pagadian City Mayor Samuel Co, a city treasurer Flornina Gerona, a city employee and seven officials of Aman Futures Group Philippines, Inc. (Aman Futures) in connection with the P12-billion investment scam in the Visayas and Mindanao.

The NBI is the Philippines’ premier investigating body and is an attached agency of the DOJ.

The syndicated estafa case was endorsed Tuesday by the NBI to the DOJ.

Zaalica Adiong, in her complaint, claimed that she invested the amount of P3.2 million in Aman Futures between the months of February and September this year in Pagadian City.

Adiong said that respondent City Treasurer Flornina Gerona received her investment and that she was issued a receipt by Haide Sepada, who is another employee of Mayor Co.

Aside from Co, Gerona and Sepada, also charged were Aman Futures founder, Manuel Amalilio and six officials of Aman Futures, namely: Fernando Luna, Leila Lim Gan, Eduard Lim, William Fuentes, Naezelle Rodriguez and Lurix Lopez.
