A total of 92 families were rescued in Vitali as rains brought about by Typhoon Pablo pounded Zamboanga City Tuesday night

The affected families were assisted by personnel of different government agencies as they evacuated to the VItali parish church.

The rescue operation and evacuation took place around 9 p.m.. No one was hurt.

At past 4 a.m. yesterday the affected residents returned to their houses as floodwater subsided.

The rescue operation was carried out successfully with the help and cooperation of the different agencies like the Vitali Police Station, Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, 9th Regional Public Safety Battalion, Bureau of Fire Protection, Red Cross and the 14 DRC of the Philippine Army.

The evacuation was very smooth as the city government had  prepared measures before Typhoon “Pablo” made a landfall in Mindanao.

Most of those who evacuated were living in low-lying areas and near riverbanks. – Dan Toribio Jr.
