Three lucky individuals, who gave information on the presence and identification of notorious criminals which resulted in the latter’s arrest, have received monetary reward from the police here.

Police Regional Office-9 Director Chief Supt. Napoleon Estilles handed over a total of P200,000 to the informant who gave vital information that led to the neutralization of Wahid Pingli alias “Wahid” who is one of the top most wanted persons in Zamboanga City.

Pingli was killed in an encounter with police operatives in the sea off Sitio Tambak,Sacol island, Zamboanga City last June 17, 2012.

The release of the reward money is pursuant to DILG Memorandum Circular 2010-54  issued on June 29 2010.

Estilles also rewarded P90,000 each to informants who gave information which led to the arrest of Wilson Taguba y Digal alias “Wilson” who is one of the most wanted persons in Zamboanga del Sur being responsible for the series of criminalities, parricide and murder cases in Pagadian City. Similar amount of reward money was also given to the tipster who furnished information that led tothe arrest of Muamar Mama y Bantilan who was neutralized by men of the Dinas Municipal Police Station in Zamboanga del Sur for several cases of murder.

Estilles said that it was his constant encouragement to the public to continually assist the PNP in giving vital information on the presence of wanted criminals in their respective localities, because the government has corresponding monetary considerations if they can give vital information that may lead to the neutralization of wanted criminals. —  Bhong Simbajon
