Bacolod bikers enjoy Zambo’s good roads PDF Print E-mail

Bikers from Bacolod and Cebu find comfort and ease in travelling to Zamboanga City, as they find the road to the city ideal for motorcycling.

The bikers led by Bacolod Thunderbugs Motorcycle Club Vice President Lito Aves arrived in the city recently for a look-see of the area, which is bidding to host the Bikers’ National Convention in 2014.

We always wanted to visit your city. We really enjoy the good roads in coming over because we don’t have this in our place. Roads here are very ideal for motorcycling”, Aves said, emerging from a courtesy call on Mayor Celso Lobregat in City Hall recently.

The Bacolod Thunderbugs will host the 19th National Convention of Bikers in Bacolod where over 3,000 bikers from all over the country are expected to participate from April 5-7, 2013.

From bikers came from Cagayan de Oro City. They were met by some 100 bikers from the different associations in Zamboanga in Curuan and escorted them to City Hall for the courtesy call on Mayor Lobregat.

The Zamboanga bikers group that assisted the visiting Bacolod and Cebu bikers were the Dragon Cruisers Motorcycle Club led by Larry Cua, Riders Volunteer Team Motorcycle Club led by Dominic Torres, 4-Stroker Motorcycle Club led by Diong Dayot and Phoenix Motorcycle Club led by Totoh Requinto.

Aves in an interview said he is impressed with Zamboanga City stressing that the people are very friendly and hospitable.

“Just now, more than 100 bikers met us along the way [to the city proper], we are really surprised over the hospitality they showed. We are really grateful”, Aves said.

Meanwhile, Mayor Lobregat during the bikers’ visit to City Hall, briefed the visitors about the history, competencies and attractions in Zamboanga that ought to be visited and explored.

He appealed to the bikers to help in the effort to promote the good, the best, the positive and the beautiful about Zamboanga when they return to their place of origin. — Sheila Covarrubias
