25-bed hospital soon to rise in Maimbung, Sulu PDF Print E-mail

Sulu Governor Sakur M. Tan led officials in the groundbreaking of the site for the soon-to-rise Maimbung Hospital last Monday.

Gov. Tan together with Rep. Tupay T. Loong, Basilan Gov. Jum  Akbar and Tawi-Tawi Gov. Sadikul Sahali joined hands in the laying of the capsule containing the plan of the new hospital in Barangay Laum. Maimbung.

The project  funding of P10 million is under the transition support project of the Department of Health. It will have a 25-bed capacity. The site is a one-hectare land donated by Gov. Tan.

The project will be implemented by 1st Engineering District Office of the Department of Public works and Highways in Sulu.

The creation of the 25-bed capacity hospital is provided for under House Bill No. 857 authored by District 1 Rep. Loong.

Tan thanked Rep. Loong for authoring the bill that paved the way for the creation of the Maimbung Hospital.

He also thanked DOH, Gov. Akbar and Gov. Sahali for gracing the ceremony.
