Sr. Supt. Edwin De Ocampo will call for a command conference today as his first move on the first day of his return as  officer-in-charge of the City Police Office.
De Ocampo said he and other police officials under the city police office will discuss the security preparations for the yuletide season and the days ahead.

He said that during the conference they will come up with several security plans to ensure peace and order during the Christmas season and for the days to come to let the residents and visitors feel safe andsecure in the city.

De Ocampo said he will deploy police personnel in the different strategic places in the city proper and in the outskirts.

He will, for the second time, assume today as OIC of the City Police Office, an order he received from the Police Regional Office to replace Sr. Supt. James Mejia who was assigned in Zamboanga del Norte.

De Ocampo had served the city for more than two years and had come up with various accomplishments before he was re-assigned at the Logistic Division of PRO9 on the first quarter of 2012.

One of De Ocampo’s significant accomplishments during his first assignment as OIC City Police Director, was the rescue of a businessman who was kidnapped in Sta. Maria.

The businessman was seized by gunmen at his junkshop but was immediately rescued by policemen led by De Ocampo in Talon-Talon.

In addition, De Ocampo put an end to the spate of shooting incidents in Talon-Talon, Mampang and Arena Blanco. His leadership resulted in the arrest of wanted persons, drug pushers and users, and the filing of charges against lawless elements. — Dan Toribio Jr.
