Servant leader Monsi dela Cruz is hosting a party today at the Nuevo Zamboanga College (NZC) in Barangay Pasobolong to celebrate Christmas.

The event which will start at 8:00 a.m. features the gathering of NZC students, young scholars, urban poor, members and leaders of Zamboangueños for the Transformation of Zamboanga (ZTZ).

Four lot titles, motorcycles, refrigerators and flat screen television sets, kicthen wares and other gifts will be given to the lucky winners for Christmas. Scholarships will also be granted to many graduating high school students.

ZTZ founder and United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) regional chairman Nonong Jalosjos and his vice mayoralty aspirant Mercy Arquiza, congressional aspirant Mannix Dalipe, and their council slates, both in Districts 1 &2, will grace the occasion.

Earlier, UNA stalwarts former president Joseph Estrada, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile officially endorsed Monsi as the candidate for Congress in District 1.

As this developed, Monsi committed that if he wins “I will give the young people and the poor a chance to improve their standard of living and to request Jalosjos and their councilors to revisit the present taxes and business incentives.

He also vowed to assist the city government in resolving the bad image of Zamboanga in terms of peace and order and criminality as well as to legislate laws that would assist the people of Mindanao.

“ All government projects would not have my name but the projects of the people of Zamboanga City.  My assets and liabilities would be available to all in the spirit of transparency,” he added.

Monsi also committed that he would make himself available to everyone for effective consultation process so as to ascertain priorities and the actual needs of the district he represents.

“I shall continue my advocacy of giving scholarships, jobs, community outreach and free lots for our poor in our city, whether I win or loss,” he vowed. — HG
