Beng, Taiwan government continue rice distribution PDF Print E-mail

House Deputy Speaker and District I Representative Beng Climaco in cooperation with the government of Taiwan continue to reach out to victims of typhoon Pablo in other parts of city through rice distribution.

Over 100 families from other parts of the city are the recipients of the continuous rice distribution program as a form of assistance and to help people ease their burdens.

While Zamboanga City was not badly hit by Pablo, several Zamboangueños who affected by the typhoon. 

The other day, Climaco distributed 10-kilos of rice to each of the affected families in barangay Baliwasan. 

The rice distribution program has been made possible through the assistance of Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office of the Taiwan Embassy.

Last December 9, Climaco spearheaded together with Taiwanese government officials the distribution of rice and other relief goods to victims of flash floods spawned by typhoon Pablo in Vitali and San Jose Gusu.

Some 1, 300 families benefited from the relief operations. Specific areas affected by the floods were sitios Camino Nuevo, Bataan, Tindalo and Tamion in Vitali.

From Vitali, Climaco and the relief operations group proceeded to San Jose Gusu in the west coast to also personally distribute the relief assistance to some families displaced by the flood caused by rains spawned by Pablo.

“It is with gratitude that we accept the help of the government of Taiwan to the City, for the second time, the first was during the medical mission because it only speaks of good cooperation between our countries”. Climaco said.— Marvin Segura
