City 2nd District Rep. Erbie A. Fabian yesterday extended his Christmas felicitations to the good people of Zamboanga City even as he expressed high hopes that a bright future looms ahead for Zamboanga City.

“I, my wife Dinggay, and our son Robin wish to extend our sincerest Yuletide cheers to the people of the city as we celebrate the birth of our dearest savior Jesus Christ here on earth. Christmas is a season of good cheer and I with my family wish to share the blessings we have been showered by God to make this a joyous occasion for everyone, rich or poor, young and the old, of all people here in Zamboanga,” said Fabian.

The 2nd district solon’s yuletide greetings come even as he has made his traditional gift giving sorties with employees, and workers at the Zamboanga Golf and country club in Calarian to include golfing caddies, umbrella girls and ball boys last Tuesday, a lunch gift-giving to members of his Fuerza Zamboanga last Wednesday and to some east coast barangays.

Fabian is also set to visit the home for the aged and the orphanage at Talon Talon and the Center for children in conflict areas at Pettit Barracks.

Fabian said Christmas is a special time of the year when sharing, love and forgiveness reign all in the joyous spirit of the season.

Rep. Fabian added there are positive signs that things can only get better for the city in the coming New Year and the years ahead even as he called on the people to unite with a single purpose of getting the city moving forward towards peace, progress and development.

“As I wind down my years in congress, the New Year beckons for new challenges ahead and I ask everyone to rally and move with a concerted effort to work for the dreams and aspirations of our people. We your public servants, have that duty to see to it that everything is done for the comfort and well-being of all people in our city,” Fabian said. “We must never forget to pray to the Almighty for all our blessings, pray for peace, for guidance and forgiveness for all our trespasses. The true meaning of Christmas is the renewal of our bond with God, who on this occasion sent his son to save mankind, exemplifying the greatest gift of all for our salvation. Let us not forget our religious obligations this Christmas even as we busy ourselves with gift giving and preparing sumptuous repast for the Noche Buena, and above all share with the less fortunate the blessings we have, the solon said.
