EAAB Golf Club holds 5th Chairman’s Cup PDF Print E-mail

More than 100 golfers, including some foreigners, have participated in the recently-held two-day 5th Chairman’s Cup at the Edwin Andrews Air Base (EAAB) Golf Club in this city.

The host of the Best of 18 golf tournaments held from Saturday until Sunday (Dec. 15-16) is 3rd Air Division commander Maj. Gen. Jose Tony Villarete, the chairman of the EAAB Golf Club.

The two-day tournament saw action some of the best golf enthusiasts who played in the different divisions—Class A, B, C, D, and Guest.

Neil Mercader dominated in the Class A division and won the championship trophy with six under par. Luis Fernando and Judge Peter Eisma landed as first runner-up and second runner-up in the Class A division who finished five under par and four under par, respectively.

In the Class B division, the champion is Dondon Rivera with seven under par and tailed by TSgt. Noel Ituralde (three under par) as first runner-up and Col. Werner Elpedes (two under par) as second runner-up.

In the Class C division, Senior Supt. Enguerra dominated the other participating-golfers with nine under par and followed by Francis Oliveros (seven under par) as first runner-up and Capt. Rafael Mariano (seven under par) as second runner-up.

Brig. Gen. Edgar Fallorina bagged the championship trophy in the Class D division as he finished the tournament with eight under par.

He was followed by Carmen Aguado (three under par) as first runner-up and Jean Eisma (three under par) as second runner-up.

Dr. Noel Arquiza emerged as champion in the Guest Division with three under par and followed by Lt. Col. Millado (three under par) as first runner-up and Lt. Co. Tono (even par) as second runner-up.

Eng’r. Faizal Hasiman successfully bagged the Lowest Net award as he finished the tournament with 13 under par while Capt. Bobby Arcillas captured the Lowest Gross with four under par.

The holding of the tournament is part of Villarete’s effort to promote the sports of golf. — BG
